Current events, politics and life in general from the perspective of a conservative woman in New York

Yet Another Blanco Blunder

It seems that the only thing this woman knows how to do is say “give me!”

In this case, she is pushing for FEMA to pay for hotel rooms for each individual or family affected by Hurricane Katrina. Her reasoning?

“It’s just not moving fast enough,” said Jerry Jones, the governor’s director of facility planning. “We don’t want to just warehouse these people. We want them to be in a place where they can thrive and get back to normalcy.”

What business does this woman, or any of her staff, have to complain that things aren’t moving fast enough? How many people died as a result of Governor Blanco stalling and not wanting to let the federal government take control of the evacuation effort.

But the real reason for this demand has nothing to do with the well being of the evacuees currently in shelters. What it ultimately boils down to is votes and tax revenue.

Blanco’s hotel request reflects the state’s growing concern that Louisianians staying in out-of-state shelters will find permanent housing in the communities where they are sheltered.

People would be more likely to move back to Louisiana if they could stay in hotels for 90 days and then be able to occupy a trailer in their home state, said Jones, the governor’s aide. “This buys us some time. … We want to entice them to come back home,” he said.

I say, impeach the bitch.

She wants the entitlement crowd back home for votes. She knows she won’t get any votes from those that work for a living and know how to take care of themselves.

She is the Epitome of Incompetence, right next to the Mayor of New Orleans.

She should be recalled. For the rest of her life she can look in the mirror and see the face of a person with blood on her hands. Because she dilly-dallied instead of being decisive, hundreds of lives were lost. In addition, many people were subjected to conditions which would not be tolerated at Gitmo.

In the feminist movement there used to be a saying: “We will have achieved equality when a mediocre woman can go as far as a mediocre man.” Blanco is several notches below mediocre. The feminists could all retire now if their sole objective wasn’t to make sure that eleven-year-old girls have access to partial-birth abortions without their parent’s knowledge or consent.
