Arizona Rancher Sued For Violating “Civil Rights” Of Illegal Aliens
Arizona ranchers Roger and Barbara Barnett were quite used to having illegal aliens traipse through their property. So they obviously must have had more than enough of illegals killing his animals, leaving their trash around, and breaking into their home. In March of 2004, Barnett caught a group of trespassers on his property, held them there at gunpoint, then turned them over the border patrol. Now MALDEF is suing.
TUCSON – A jury trial is underway in U.S. District Court in Tucson over a complaint filed in 2005 by 16 illegal aliens against Douglas ranchers Roger Barnett, his wife Barbara and his brother Donald.
The case stems from a March 7, 2004 incident in which Barnett, 64, held a group of illegal aliens trespassing on his ranch at gunpoint until the U.S. Border Patrol could pick them up.
For the past ten years, Barnett has been attempting to protect his property from damage caused by trespassing aliens as they illegally enter the United States.Barnett, who has turned over 12,000 illegal aliens to the Border Patrol since 1998, says illegal aliens have destroyed his property, cut his water lines, killed his calves, left piles of trash and drugs behind and broken into his home.
The complaint, which also names Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever as a defendant, was filed by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) on behalf of the illegal aliens and tells quite a different story.
MALDEF claims the Barnetts “have engaged in a private campaign and have conspired with each other and others to ‘hunt’ and detain against their will, and at gunpoint, Latino migrants or presumed migrants such as plaintiffs.”
Now this looks to me like another Compean/Ramos setup. Unfortunately, the Barnetts will end up having to cough over lots of money to these criminal illegal invaders, who shouldn’t even get to use our courts just because they got caught committing a crime.

It is a sad day in this country when the 58 million + of use who did not vote for Obama and the Pelosi death squad must not only conceeded to the crap within the stimulus bill and the throwing out of E-Verify, but must also conceede our state laws, our rights, our jobs and our overall safety to illegal immigrants.

True. But just because we have ‘rights’ doesn’t mean we don’t have to fight to keep them. The minority viewpoint is always a vote away from further unpleasantness, as history has aptly shown us. Being in the minority can make us stronger if we act and help the other guy who is fighting our war.

Please just tell me why do we build fences and have the Border PATROL, that must be interfering whith someone rights.
