On Obama’s Pick For Treasury Secretary
Obama believes that his pick for Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner will have no problem being approved by the Senate, despite forgetting to pay his Medicare and Social Security taxes for several years.
Unfortunately, he’s right. The Republicans have lost their you know whats a long time ago. And Obama will pull out the race card with any criticism of his people. The media is certainly covering for Mr. Geithner.
The flap over Geithner’s back taxes and his domestic help boiled over on Tuesday when he met with Finance Committee members to explain his failure to fully pay several years worth of Medicare and Social Security taxes and the lapse of a housekeeper’s work papers during her employment by his family.
Obama aides have characterized the errors as honest mistakes, and Geithner has amended his tax returns to repay about $42,700 in back taxes and interest.
The tax controversy stems from years when Geithner worked for the International Monetary Fund. IMF employees are responsible for meeting their own tax obligations, because unlike most U.S. employers, the IMF does not automatically pay or deduct certain payroll taxes on behalf of employees.
And mind you, this is the same media that made a huge deal out of Joe the Plumber having a tax lien.
Also, according to Hot Air, it was on Geithner’s watch as head of the New York Federal Reserve that Citigroup went down the toilet.

Well, this didn’t start with Obama. Remember when the fanatical left-wing ideologues Stephen Breyer and Ruth Bader Allen Ginsburg were ratified by 99-1 votes? If I am not mistaken, the one dissenting vote in those cases actually came from Fritz Hollings (D-SC), who voted against them because of some stupid, crazy tiff he had with party leadership. The Republicans are America’s Likud and have been for a long time.

I’m really disappointed with most of Obama’s choice of economic advisers and team. From Volkner to Geithner I don’t think any of these people predicted the recession in good time. Those that did predict it and are disagreeing with Obama’s plans are being completely ignored.

Didn’t predict it (the recession)? Most of them were knee-deep in causing it knowing full well that it would be blamed on GW!
Remember this well, that Enron was a Clinton scandal that was unearthed by the Bush admin, yet GW got blamed for it. Had Bubba been able to stay one more term the scandal-plagued recession we’re in would have happened six years earlier, if we were still around to see it. Somehow, I don’t see his response to 9/11 as much more than sending Algore to the mountains of Pakistan and Afghanistan to talk bin Laden to sleep. Unless, of course, those stinkin’ stains showed up on some other fat cutie’s dress. Then all bets would be off for airstrikes at any aspirin factory in the world.
