The Urban Grind

Current events, politics and life in general from the perspective of a conservative woman in New York

“Today Gaza, Tomorrow The West Bank and Jerusalem”

That’s the latest slogan in a political campaign funded by the United Nations Development Program.

Both the West Bank (search) and Jerusalem (search) are disputed areas, yet it is U.N. money that is paying for posters, t-shirts, even bumper stickers bearing that slogan. On Tuesday, as Israeli security forces clashed with angry Jewish settlers protesting their eviction from the Gaza Strip, Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia (search) wore a T-shirt saying, “Today Gaza. Tomorrow the West Bank and Jerusalem.”

When FOX News confronted the UNDP representative in Gaza about the apparent misuse of U.N. money, he brushed off the concern.

“Almost anything new in Palestine has an element of politics in it,” said the representative, Timothy Rothermel. “This was something, that particular poster which was prepared by the disengagement office with financial support from UNDP, but obviously what it says is also consistent with the relevant U.N. resolutions in the Security Council decisions about the status of Palestine.”

But others are livid.

Gold claims the UNDP has also been giving money to organizations tied to Hamas (search). One UNDP bank transfer request, obtained by FOX News, shows the organization giving thousands of dollars to a Jenin-based organization with links to the militant group.

As a Jew, what angers me the most is that other intelligent, educated Jews think this withdrawal can work, and that they can negotiate with these Amalekite butchers. Also as a Jew, I think I can get away with saying that even though Jews as a group have done very well for themselves and have made tremendous contributions in the sciences and arts, most of them as individuals are completely koo koo when it comes to what’s best for Jews as a whole.

The only way these people will ever be happy is when Israel ceases to exist. Unfortunately, that day may soon come.

This is the UN doing business as usual, unfortunately.

From what I can understand about it, the withdrawal from Gaza may have been the right thing to do, hard as it is. The unfortunate fact, however, is that Palestinian terrorists aren’t going to stop until Israel, and its people, are destroyed. Or until the terrorists themselves are destroyed, which seems like a much better answer to me.

Good to see you commenting again Tom. Hope you’re doing well. Why is it the right thing to do, in your opinion? Unfortunately, the terrorists will not be destroyed, as the American “War on Terror” is a half-assed politically correct sham, and Israel is forbidded to just put an end to the P.A.
