VP Debate Moderator Gwen Ifill In The Tank For Obama
Here’s what Michelle Malkin has to say:
My dictionary defines “moderator” as “the nonpartisan presiding officer of a town meeting.” On Thursday, PBS anchor Gwen Ifill will serve as moderator for the first and only vice presidential debate. The stakes are high. The Commission on Presidential Debates, with the assent of the two campaigns, decided not to impose any guidelines on her duties or questions.
But there is nothing “moderate” about where Ifill stands on Barack Obama. She’s so far in the tank for the Democratic presidential candidate, her oxygen delivery line is running out.
In an imaginary world where liberal journalists are held to the same standards as everyone else, Ifill would be required to make a full disclosure at the start of the debate. She would be required to turn to the cameras and tell the national audience that she has a book coming out on Jan. 20, 2009 — a date that just happens to coincide with the inauguration of the next president of the United States.
The title of Ifill’s book? “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.” Nonpartisan my foot.
{snip}
Despite the protestations of her colleagues that she will be fair, Ifill has appeared on numerous radio and TV talk shows over the past several months to cash in on her access to the Obama campaign. She recently penned a fawning cover story on the Obamas for Essence magazine that earned much buzz. The title? “The Obamas: Portrait of an American Family.” A sample of Ifill’s hard-hitting investigative journalism, illustrated with Kennedy-esque photos of the Obamas and children posing at home on the back porch and by the piano:
Now I remember Ifill from the 2004 Vice Presidential debates. She seemed professional, and I liked her royal blue suit. But I think she’s definitely in the tank for Obama, being that he would be our first black President.
Check out her reaction to Sarah Palin’s speech at the Republican National Convention
Ifill also questioned Palin’s ability to be a mother and a Vice President just a four days after McCain announced her as his running mate. (Via Freedom’s Lighthouse)
I especially liked how Rep. Heather Wilson responded to Ifill’s biased questions. Congresswoman Fallin wasn’t bad either.
Anyway, Ifill just broke her ankle last night when she fell down a flight of stairs at her home. But she won’t let that get in the way of trying to get her Obamessiah into the White House.
Frankly, I don’t understand why the McCain campaign agreed to let Ifill be the moderator of the VP debate. I think he’s still treating Obama with kid gloves, and basically sleepwalking through this campaign.

If you start loading the board with the likes of Carolyn Kennedy and Howard Buffett, et al. It’s no surprise that their involved in electing the Manchurian Candidate. The only remotely conservative person on the board is Alan Simpson and though he calls himself a ‘Republican’, his leanings are clearly way to the left. It’s a shame to see what’s happening to our country. With much wisdom, comes much sorrow.

…and she “a negro” to boot!

Ya know, it’s interesting you bring that up, OCM. One of the memes of the left is that there’ll be rampant racist voting in this election. Ifill would vote for any loony leftist that comes down the pike, the loonier the better, but that’s beside this point.
My point is that the racist voting will be from the “African Americans”, not necessarily the whites. When the likes of Armstrong Williams is torn between voting what’s in his moral fiber and voting for a candidate simply because of the color of his skin, there is no other name that fits except “racism”.
