NY Boutique Owner Assaulted Over Anti-Obama T-Shirts
Once again, Manhattan boutique owner Apollo Braun is in the news. About a month ago, I posted about how a woman in Manhattan was beaten up by a mob of feral teenage girls by wearing this t-shirt designed by Apollo Braun.
But that’s not the end of of it. A few days ago, Braun was attacked in his own boutique by two thugs who took offense to this t-shirt. This is what happened, according to Braun’s publicist.
The customer who passed by yesterday (Wednesday, August 13th, 2008) at approximately 6pm at the “Apollo Braun” clothing store at 193 Orchard Street on the Lower East Side in New York City, was shocked to discover a man on the floor. The female customer gave a hand to the man who was discovered to be the owner of the store himself, Doron Braunshtein, who is mostly known by the name of his store- Apollo Braun.
A few minutes after that, Braunshtein called the police who came to file a report: He was attacked yesterday by two men (both African-American, both looked like they were in their mid-forties). One of the men (the first one to enter the store) shouted at Braunshtein: “Who do you call a slave, you f***ing Jew?!” (In those words exactly) While the other man grabbed the surprised Braunshtein by his hands, the first man kicked him in his testicles. After that, Braunshtein fell to the floor, shocked and in pain.
This is the third time that NYPD have come to the “Apollo Braun” store since the designer appeared on the cover of New York newspaper “Metro” where he wore a t-shirt which he sells in his store, bearing the slogan “Obama is my slave”. Since then, the designer gets endless phone calls and emails with death threats and curses.
Braunshtein said today: “This is very disturbing to me that I am living in New York City and that I own a boutique for more than five and a half years on the border of the Lower East Side and the East Village, neighborhoods which are suppose to be the most open-minded and tolerant to any kind of art, but instead, people don’t understand me, hate me and don’t let me express myself the way everyone should be able to in New York. I mean, if I can’t say what I want to say here so where can I say it? In Boston? Sometimes I feel like New York is becoming more and more like Iran”.
At the same time, the designer adds: “I don’t want to be killed for my t-shirts. I am still shocked about what happened yesterday but there is a big chance that I will stop selling my anti-Obama merchandise after what happened. I mean, tomorrow someone could show up at my store with a gun, and I don’t want that to happen”.
Looks like Apollo just learned the hard way that liberal who claim to be tolerant of anyone and everything, will turn on you like wild animals when you don’t parrot the party line.

No excuse for assault, but Apollo, dude, get another T-shirt that makes sense and isn’t vaguely racist.

I probably have 50 or so t-shirts–all of which are of animals, beauty, etc.
I don’t like t-shirts with any “message” on them.

freedom of speech. i saw a t shirt that said i would rather be doing coke off a strippers ass…offensive and vile yes, but did i thug it out and kick his ass for wearing this shirt in front of my kids – no. i would challenge those thugs to show their face in front of me after i have taken an Arnold dose of magic workout potion.

C’mon. Once again, Bush is Hitler is a phrase on tshirts I’ve seen all over the States. In Spain at the outbreak of the Iraq war, there were shirts everywhere that had pictures of then prime-minister Aznar, Bush, and Hitler with Schwastikas on them. Free speech is ok, so long as you conform to what the Left deems reasonable. I’m ordering a 40 pack of those shirts, and I’m bringing my pit bull and .357 out when I wear them.

Obviously, I agree with freedom of speech but I think this t-shirt is offensive, racist, and not funny …

i kinda like this shirt don’t u? i mean if this is America then we have the freedom to say as we please, don’t we? if this is truly a free country than this man has every right to wear what he wants. i don’t give a shit if u don’t like it, u think its racist, u think its tasteless, blahblahblah. this is America and he can wear what he wants to and if u don’t like it that’s to bad because as my father always said “life’s tough” so get used to it. this is the real world and its not so nice so toughen up and u better learn where the line is drawn because this man can wear this shirt but the two black guys who kicked his ass didn’t have the right to, if these men are caught they in my opinion should loose every right they have for violating this mans constitutional right. this is the point where i wish our justice system was based on eye for an eye, personally if those two black guys tried that shit on me they would have been leaving the store in a body bag. and u know what i wouldn’t have lost any sleep over it. im gonna order a 50 pack of these shirts and a .45 automatic so i can wear one every day

i think this shirt is hilarious. only because obama thinks white people should pay for what happened along time ago (slavery) and it’s dumb. he thinks everyone who doesnt vote for him is racist and that’s also dumb. people dont vote for him because they dont believe in what he does. and there is nothing wrong with that. that’s the good thing about the u.s. people are intitled to their own oppinion and we have freedom of speech and expression. if you take this shirt offensive then sucks for you. dont threatin someone’s life over it. if it hurts you this bad make a shirt about mcain or about white people in general.
God bless.

& i agree with people that posted. people take stuff to the extreme. it’s a FREAKIN SHIRT. it’s to make money. it’s not killin or hurting anyone. and another thing i agree with what’s up there. it’s not wrong for stuff bad mouthing mcain and bush but by God when something is said about a black person. OH HELL NO. all hell breaks loose. people are so stupid. get a life and stop being so DAMN sensitive.

why is it that a black person can use the race card at a job when a white person is more likely to not get a job because of the fear of legal action that company might face. and does any black person care that there were black people selling black people into slavery in africa. do black people get together and hate on their ancestors? do you find it odd that black people in other countries often refer to the black people in america as lazy?

I own two very old vehicles. I bought them primarily so I can plaster them with politically incorrect stickers. I love antagonizeing with the left because I am in S.F. CA, home of the radical left. I am not surprised at this attack. My cars bear the scars of battle from intolerant lefties. I see nothing but brutal signs, t-shirts, books against the W. People laugh and high five each other about it. Some of it racial in nature. Like stupid white men can’t jump, Dizzy white bith (Palin) but dare to say anything against the bourgeois bohemians and oh Lord have mercy.
Welcome to the new regime. My stiker reads Keep the Change Bro.

Boy, I have to flush my toilet with plenty of water to wash down all these SALTY CRACKERS that replied to the STUPIDITY of Mr. Braun. Those Brothers should have kicked his nuts up into his chest to give his girlie looking behind the breast he looks like he wants. Way to go Bros! But anyway, It’s a shame there’s so many dumb racist Americans still living. You just can’t comprehend how the once slaved is now your superior masters LOL! I know you’re mad because the table is now turning in the corporate, media, sports, entertainment, medical, legal and political fields. And now the day has come where the one sacred office you thought could never be occupied by a Black man is here. HALLELUJAH!!! GOD IS GREAT! Read your Bible you haters it says “The first shall be last and the last shall be FIRST”. Yes! we rule from the jail house to the WHITE HOUSE and there’s nothing you can do about it. YEAH! Go to my blog at sirsoulamerican.blogspot.com and leave your comment. PEACE
