Obama Not A Natural Born U.S. Citizen?
Barack Obama is not legally a US natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth; a law that was in effect between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, when the law was changed.
However, the new law did not preempt the former law in the cases of those born between the above listed dates when the old law was in effect.
Therefore, Senator Obama may very well be disqualified as the Democratic candidate in the upcoming Presidential campaign.
Presidential office requires the person elected to be a natural-born United States citizen if the child was not born to two US citizen parents.
US Law very clearly stipulates: “If only one parent was a US citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16.”
Barack Obama’s father was not a US citizen, and Obama’s mother was only 18 when he was born, which means although she had been a US citizen for 10 years, his mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years prior to Barack Obama’s birth.
In order for her child to have been a natural-born US citizen, his mother would have had to be 21 at the time of his birth.
In essence, Mrs. Obama was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic US citizenship.
His mother would have needed to have been 16+5 = 21 years old at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to have been a natural-born citizen.
Barack Obama instead should have been naturalized, but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office of President under current law.
According to forensics specialist, Techdude, Obama’s COLB originally had the name of Obama’s sister, Maya Kassandra Soetero.

Sorry, kids. This article is demonstrably wrong. Obama was born in Honolulu, which automatically makes him a U.S. citizen, regardless of the status or age of his parents. That question was settled almost a century before Obama was born by the first sentence of the 14th Amendment.

Of the six posts above, only Sean’s makes any sense. The language of the 14th amendment is crystal clear: ALL persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. ALL persons, please note. Born in the United States, automatically a citizen. Anyone who by virtue of his birth automatically becomes a citizen meets the very definition of natural-born citizen.
Carlos’s comment reflects a profound lack of understanding of the American constitutional system. For Arnold to become eligible to run, a constitutional amendment would be necessary.
No mere circuit court of appeals could possibly do anything to bring that about.
Those who claim to see hope of derailing Obama on the citizenship issue fall into two classes: the hyperpartisans who blind themselves to facts that don’t support their position, and the cynics who don’t believe for an instant that any challenge based on citizenship c ould be mounted, but see raising this question as one more way of casting doubt on Obama.

Gosh, Jerry, I’m sure glad you straightened me out on that.
Maybe if you had a sense of humor you would have been able to tell I was making a much broader statement about the judiciary, and how they’ve usurped a significant portion of the powers appointed to the legislative by the Constitution. I’d be willing to match my knowledge of what the Constitution actually says (as opposed to the way the courts have bastardized nearly every portion of it) with you any time.
And Sean, it depends a lot on how one reads the first sentence of the Amendment. And whether he was, in fact, born in Hawaii. I don’t know and, at this point, probably couldn’t care less. I’m much more concerned about how he wants to redistribute wealth, blame America for all the evil things that have ever happened, and let his own clique of special interest groups start micromanaging all our lives.

OK, here’s the scenario, in case anyone’s wondering why the Clinton machine got the Dems to “go through the motions” of nominating her at their convention: Hil and Bubba have the goods on BO vis-a-vis his ineligibility for POTUS. Hil will wave a certified copy of her birth certificate from the podium, and challenge BO to do the same, on the spot. He will not be able to do so, because he is actually not even a U.S. citizen. Lacking proof of BO’s eligibility, the convention will be asked to vote for Hil rather than take a chance on BO not being able to prove his status before Novenber elections. Result: Hil gets the nomination.

All you need do to satisfy yourself is to view the ABC Video of Bill Clinton’s August 4, 2008 interview with Kate Snow while he was in Liberia (with Chelsea) – the video interview is still on the ABC website under (Bill Clinton says he’s not angry). Bill could not help himself in twice referencing the qualifications of POTUS under the Constitution. Bill also claims Obama is “smart as a whip”, a racist reference to relegate Obama to “slave” status. An Obama presidency would be a disaster for America. First off, there unsavory relationships such as Bill Ayres, ACORN, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, his communist mentor whose name currently escapes me, Reverend Pflegger, Samantha Power, who said we should invade Israel, Bresezinski, who is a Jimmy Carter leftover, Rashid Khalidi, Edward Said, and many more.
Islam is more than a religion. I know because I have family from those parts. It’s also a political system. And the places where you Muslims in charge, or even where there’s a vocal minority, you have trouble.

Joe, Joe, Joe – you are a bit confused. While many of the founding fathers, including the one’s you cited, could be referred to as “deists” they certainly did not have a disdain for religion en masse. They did, however, have strong feelings against mixing civil law with religion; that is to say that they believed in the principles of religious teachings, but they were dead set against taking civil law directly from the Bible. They were opposed to the idea of a theocracy or religious monarchy, something with which they were all too familiar.
If they had no use for religion, why did each session of Congress begin with a prayer?
For the record, I am not a practicing Christian. I just can’t let history be re-written by those who don’t like it the way it was.

Now you say you don’t want someone who’s far richer than you telling you how to live your life. But Obama and his wife are far richer than most of us. Why do you want him to tell you how to live you life but not McCain?
I think the Democratic party is for lefty billionaires like George Soros, trial lawyers, Hollywood actors, illegals, and people on public assistance. You can say the Republicans are the party of the big businesses. But I think they’re also for the middle class. We all aspire to make more money and be successful. So that shouldn’t be penalized.

We’ve got to remember the Founding Fathers just revolted for England and basically European control. They saw firsthand religion at its worst. They witnessed many nations in Europe being controlled by the Pope and Catholic Church in that their rulers were subservient to the Church. With England they knew intimately that the government controlled the Church where the King of England was the head of the Church of England. They distained both forms of government and that’s why we have in our 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights it says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. We weren’t going to have an official religion or religion running the government.
Now, our Founding Fathers believed in Judeo-Christian principals and our constitution is based on these principals. It’s because of these principals that all forms of religious worship has been permitted and welcomed in America or if a person chooses to not believe, that’s there choice. Just read the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independent.

Joe, I found this to be a curious statement:
I agree with that sentiment, but who are you talking about there? Both McCain AND Obama are far richer than most of us, but I see Obama telling me more about “what’s in my best interest” far more than McCain has done. If you are voting for Obama, what makes you think you will have more choice in how you live your life or keep more of the money you earn for yourself and your family?
I am an American who has lived in New Zealand for 4 years now. I work and pay taxes here just like every other Kiwi. This country is very socialist in its policies, and there are regulations on everything, my friend. Oh sure, we have state-sponsored health care, but you just have to get in line and wait your turn – a choice determined by a government bureaucrat. And don’t forget all the health care workers’ strikes which seem to happen about every other week. And don’t forget about hospital overcrowding and bed shortages.
We also have this on-going battle over the Treaty of Waitangi, and the government has settled (with tax-payer money, of course) a few cases of what could be called reparations, with some Maori TRIBES receiving quite sizable awards, but not ONE INDIVIDUAL MAORI has received a dime – excepting, of course, the tribal iwi (chieftains).
And now the government wants to place a cap on how much water pressure each house receives and take away the choices you have regarding light bulb purchases regardless if you are willing or able to pay for more water or electricity – all in the name of fulfilling its Kyoto agreement to save the planet. There is an objection (mostly coming from the Green Party) to every clean/green proposal for alternative energy solutions, so, rather than continue to find ways of increasing supply, they seem to have just decided to coerce the citizenry to lower its demands and move backward in time. “Like it or not, we don’t care. We know what’s best for you,” is the attitude from government.
Businesses and citizens are leaving here in droves. Being a tiny country in the So Pacific, NZ has always imported more than it has exported, but exports are dwindling and the trade imbalance is widening.
I see these things happening in the US if somebody like Obama gets elected. You will have fewer choices and less individual freedom.
But you will have more “group-think” and group equality. The Constitution guarantees equal opportunity, but it does not guarantee equality. There is a difference.

I never said “I’m voting for Obama” I said he was less crazy. I will voting for one of the 3rd party candidtates that no one knows about. As for political climates in Africa, Australia, Iran, or Iraq I haven’t a clue. And I owe anyone reading an apology if anything I’ve said is inaccurate. I know very little about the history of politics but when I see someone bringing up a race, religion, or set of values as a negative it upsets me to no end. No one deserves to be derided based on the fact who they are doesn’t mesh with who the public wants them to be. No one has the right to call you stupid, unpatriotic, or a heathen unless you know that person intimately and even then it’s wrong. People are different, diverse even…and I hope before it’s too late I hope you realize that.
…and if McCain ends up stealing the election based on the horrible tactics weve seen, I pray no one dies as a result.

joe, what kind of horrible tactics are you talking about? You’re not talking about shooting up election Hqs or flattening the tires of vans used to bring voters to the polls or maybe fraudulent voter registration? There’s only one party that’s known for having voters who reside in cemeteries. But, that said, what tactics are you talking about?

Joe, as I see it, ACORN is the one involved in the most voter fraud. If you read the news, you’ll see how they tried registering someone as Micky Mouse, or that they registered a 7 year old. I could go on. Why do you think they’re being investigated in several states?
