What’s changed? She still looks angry. Now she’s just wearing more stylish clothes and painfully pointed shoes. Ah, the price of image making! I would not have wanted to run into her when she was a teen ager with her girl gang on DeKalb Avenue, or the equivalent. This is one “Whitey” that would have given her some trouble back.

For all you people who hate racism, then you should hate Obama because that’s what him and his wife are! They hate White people. I do not understand how people are blind to this. What is the definition of racist? When did it become only White people who could be considered rasist? BET, NAACP,JET, all rasist organizations.Thousands of White americans died during the civil war for black rights, who cries for them. Obama’s mother is a white woman, his black father ran out on him, yet he is black.My family had no slaves,ever! My wife is from Brazil, when she first came to this country she used to say, what is wrong with white people, Blacks and White’s do not have the problems that they have in the US in Brazil. Now three years later she says, What is wrong with the Black people here, They do not have Black only award show’s, Black only TV networks, Black only magazines, and on and on.My wife has a Black sister and came to this counrty completly open minded, Yet now she is scared of the American Blacks. I have been to Paris where there is a large Black population, I ended up in an all black area of the city yet no one bothered me. I was almost attacked in Dallas for asking a Young Black man to please turn down his radio in front of a 10 year old little girl ( rap song was F this F that) because of the language(and yes I did ask nicely). Black people are teaching their kid to hate white people (maybe just the men) I dont know what else to do, to get along. But I will not roll over and play dead. It’s not going to happen! As far as everyone wanting to come to America, I realize not EVERYONE wants to come here. I am thinking of moving To Brazil where we can All get along, because it’s NEVER going to happen here! So many people are going to vote on Obama just because of his skin color. And some of you think that’s a good this.

There certainly are quite a few negative posts on here. People filled with hatred. As a white man who went to school and grew up in Detroit, I can see why. A majority of black Americans are taught at an early age to hate white people and that everyone is against them (including other races). Most white people can see the scars left from a racist past and try to keep an open mind. The problem is small pockets of the black community all over America make it very difficult. With violent music, behavior, and cultural patterns it is hard to keep an open mind. Can’t see what I am saying…Lil Wayne a #! billboard artist at the moment was recently arrested for the 3rd or 4th time. This time he was carrying a weapon, had an ounce of blow, a quarter pound of pot, and 40 grams of ecstasy. Yet he is being supported. Next we have the mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick. He is facing nearly as many felony counts as Barry Bonds. Weird, almost the same charges too, and he refuses to step down. Mr. Elliot Spitzer is not a role model, but you can see the difference. He stepped down and took himself out of the spotlight instead of pointing the finger at another race, group, or culture.

Reading most of the comments really made me sad. As a black child attending public schools in the south during early 70′s, my first “best friend” was white. It was not until I became a teenager that I realized such hate exsited between blacks and whites. Even today my business associates consist of men and women of varied races and ethnic backgrounds. My business partner is a white man. What I have learned throughout my life is that the color of a persons skin does not make him or her a bad person, it is thier character that says who they really are. I have dealt with awful & ignorant whites as well as blacks. Their ignorance had nothing to do with thier color. As far as implying that it is wrong for blacks to have a tv station or award show that recognizes or represents them is not a valid statement. Everytime a white person turns on the tv he can easily find a postive image to reaffirm who he/she is. However, until recent years that had been difficult for blacks to find. BET is not about hate and may I remind you that it is not all blacks that watch it, just as it is not all whites that watch other stations. I know that some will say I am naive however, my experienc has been one of diversity and acceptance and I believe that we are allowing a few folks stuck in the pre-civil rights mentality to taint our perception of each other.

Sigh…. so sad indeed. Well said, MTM. It the ignorance displayed on this page is unbelievable. I have just two final comments on this topic. 1-Michelle Obama is a beautiful, intelligent woman. 2-Michelle Obama’s husband will hopefully be our next president. It’s sad to think that anyone would sacrifice affordable health care, quality and affordable education for ALL Americans, a striving economy, job security, etc., etc., etc. because of their hate for a particular race.

If this site is your main source for news/information, it’s no wonder you have these views. This site is filled with hate, racism, and opinion vs fact. Try other, more reputable sources such as CNN, BBC, NPR. Especially NPR, it’s the best news source available. It’s both educational and entertaining, especially the Saturday morning news shows. I prefer to spend my time learning, gaining useful knowledge that adds value to my life and the life of others.
