First off, I’m curious as to what she’s doing in London. I mean, is it really necessary for her to go there (along with the Secret Service) to give hugs to the American basketball team? Couldn’t she have just congratulated them over the phone?

No, this looks like just another excuse for Mrs. Michelle Antoinette Obama to take a vacation, and to hob nob with the European Royals.

Of course the Obama supporters will go on about how Mrs. Obama can wear what she wants, and that it’s her own money, etc. But remember, this is a regime that has been demonizing rich people and business owners. Obama has publicly stated that everyone must chip in and make sacrifices. That is everyone except for him and his family. Here’s are pictures of Mrs. Obama in the $6,800 jacket.

The jacket is actually not bad, although she could have used a side mirror. But seriously, why does this woman insist on constantly exposing her arms? So they’re muscular. Big deal. Whatever happened to modesty? I don’t remember any other First Lady who regularly exposed so much flesh. For example, take a look at the video of the European heads of state and royals entering Buckingham Palace at the link above. (Sorry, I couldn’t find the embed link.) Do you see any exposed arms?

Barely a month after their Christmas break is Hawaii, Mooch and the girls this time hit the slopes in glamorous Aspen Colorado.

The holiday is not the first time the first girls have been on skis.

Their first attempt came in Feb 2010 when she took the girls to Liberty Mountain Resort, in Carroll Valley, Pa. just is 60 minutes from the White House.
And last year Mrs Obama took Sasha and Malia to Vail and Beaver Creek last Presidents’ Day just days after the President tried to sell his cost-cutting budget to the American people by asking them to stay at home.

‘If you’re a family trying to cut back, you might skip going out to dinner, or you might put off a vacation,’ he said.
Once again while Mr Obama returned to the White House after a fundraising trip to West Coast, the rest of his family headed to Colorado – rather than visiting slopes closer to Washington in Virginia or Pennsylvania.

Their trip came despite previous criticisms over the family’s extravagant vacations, including a trip last summer to Martha’s Vineyeard where the family rented a farm estate for around $50,000 a week.

Mrs Obama also raised eyebrows when for the second year in a row she left earlier than her husband for their annual Christmas holiday in Hawaii, incurring additional expenses of an estimated $100,000. The 17 day holiday is estimated to have cost taxpayers $4 milloion.

No public events are scheduled for the first lady’s visit to Aspen.

Michelle Obama has invited dancers from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to the White House.

The performers will kick off a series celebrating American dance on September 7 as part of an event honoring the theater’s artistic director Judith Jameson. The show, starting at 5 p.m. in White House’s East Room, will feature a number of styles, including ballet, contemporary and hip-hop.?

Also showing Judith some love during the event will be performers from the Paul Taylor Dance Company, The Washington Ballet, The New York City Ballet and Super Cr3w from MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew.”?

When I read about the Obamas and all their vacations, and stuff like this, I think of the following:

What is it with Democrats who say they’re the party of the “little guy” who then have flashy weddings (like Chelsea Clinton), or go on extravagant vacations. Normally, I wouldn’t care what politicians do on their spare time with their own money. But I think it’s hypocritical when they bash “rich people” whose tax dollars they steal to give to their constituents in the form of government goodies.

Now I didn’t post about Chelsea Clinton’s wedding because that’s all I’ve been seeing on television lately, and I’m sick to death of hearing about whether she would wear a Vera Wang or an Oscar De La Renta gown. It was also quite fitting that she married that Mezvinsky character, since both of them are from a family of Democrat criminals.

It’s no different with Michelle and Sasha Obama’s Spanish adventure. Apparently, such a lavish vacation hasn’t gone over well with some people in the media.

Sacrifice is something that many Americans are becoming all too familiar with during this economic downturn. It was a key theme in President Obama’s inaugural address to the nation, and he’s referenced it numerous times when lecturing the country on how to get back on its feet.

But while most of the country is pinching pennies and downsizing summer sojourns – or forgoing them altogether – the Obamas don’t seem to be heeding their own advice. While many of us are struggling, the First Lady is spending the next few days in a five-star hotel on the chic Costa del Sol in southern Spain with 40 of her “closest friends.” According to CNN, the group is expected to occupy 60 to 70 rooms, more than a third of the lodgings at the 160-room resort. Not exactly what one would call cutting back in troubled times.

Reports are calling the lodgings of Obama’s Spanish fiesta, the Hotel Villa Padierna in Marbella, “luxurious,” “posh” and “a millionaires’ playground.” Estimated room rate per night? Up to a staggering $2,500. Method of transportation? Air Force Two.

Don’t forget about all those Secret Service agents who have to be shlepped out to Spain to watch over ME-chelle and Sasha. Personally, I can’t imagine any agent wanting to take a bullet for the Obamas, but anyway, moving along…

Incredibly, the Obamas have long portrayed themselves as precisely such commoners. Just this month, Obama told ABC the First Couple is “not that far removed from what most Americans are going through.” And that “it was just a few years ago that we had high credit card balances, we had two kids, thinking about college. We had our own retirement accounts, wondering if we were going to be able to get enough assets in there.”
